Abstract: This paper analyzes the design, construction and operation of typical fish passages, which are built in the cascade development of Columbia River and Snake River in US, Nagara River Estuary weir in Japan, Itaipu Dam in Brazil and reconstruction of fish passage in Rhine by Salmon-2000 Program. The information indicates that fish passage is a very important structural measure of eco-environment protection and river restoration. It can achieve the goal of fish protection, combine the project construction with the popular science and tourism, promote the local economic development and have great social and economic benefits.
