Abstract: Long-term compensation is an innovative way for reservoir resettlement, which is under experiment in China. The impacts of different parameters on Static Value and Present Discounted Value of long-term compensation such as discount rate, growth rate, fixed number of years and starting year, have been analyzed in this paper. Different understanding and expectation for discount rate and growth rate, that are important in compensation calculation, and problems derived from the differences have been further discussed. Improving the long-term compensation policies and putting forward the compensation basis and standards have been suggested to reach the goal of healthy and sustainable long-term compensation.
