Abstract: Poyang Lake water conservancy project will seasonally obstruct the exchange of fish between the Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River. To maintain the well-balanced exchange of fish, the status of fish resource and exchange are analyzed according to the references, the effects on spawning ground, feeding ground, over-wintering ground, and the exchange of fish between the Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River due to the hydrological change are researched. Effective measures are recommended reduce the adverse effects on fish.
