Abstract: Refraction, diffraction and reflection will happen when wave encounters channel during the process of wave propagation. MIKE 21 BW is a good module to calculate and analyze the interaction of multi-directional irregular waves propagating in a small area and to simulate various wave phenomena, such as shoaling, refraction, diffraction and reflection. Based on the module, this paper analyzes the impacts on the wave propagation caused by water depth of channel, channel width, channel slope and angle of incident wave. The results provide some reference to the planning and design of port and navigation works.

Key words: navigation channel, numerical modeling, MIKE 21, wave propagation
