Abstract: In this paper, the fish passage facilities construction scheme is analyzed from the aspects of hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, topography, layout and operational mode. To reduce the impact on fish migration between the Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River, fish passages are constructed on both banks and combined with the ship locks to resolve the anadromous migration problems, while sluices eco-regulating operation and fish-friendly turbine are proposed to resolve catadromous migration problems. At the same time, fish passage type and other fish-protecting measures suitable for fishes living in Poyang Lake are suggested on the basis of investigating the exchange of fish species between river and lake, in order to reduce the negative effect of water control project on fishes as far as possible.
