Abstract: In recent years, with the promotion of the Grand Canal applying for world cultural heritage process, several departments have cooperated to protect ancient water conservancy projects of the Grand Canal comprehensively. Value exploration and evaluation are the basis of protection for canal projects. Based on characteristics of ancient water conservancy projects of the Grand Canal, value evaluation index system on canal projects is built through revising existing standards, and quantitative evaluation method for canal projects is proposed. As a case study, ancient water conservancy projects of the Grand Canal in Dezhou city is evaluated quantitatively.
