Experimental study on pressure loss of rain zone in cooling tower

Abstract: Research on the pressure loss performance of rain zone in cooling tower has been a difficult problem for a long time. This paper establishes a cross-flow simulating test equipment to test the pressure loss of rain zone with different rain zone heights and depths, watering densities and air velocities. The test results show that pressure loss coefficient per unit of length in the rain zone increases as the rain zone height and watering density increase, and decreases as the rain zone depth and air velocity increase. The test results supplement and extend the existing theories of the pressure loss performance of rain zone, and provide basic support for the design of super large-scale natural draft cooling tower.
