Abstract: In order to find out the destruction reasons of a retaining wall of a reservoir, detailed investigation and detection was carried out. On the other hand, the retaining wall concrete was detected, evaluated and the monitoring data was analyzed, and also check calculation of the retaining wall structure was executed. It is indicated that overloading of water load on the negative side of the retaining wall is the main reason that gives rise to the relatively large deformation of the wall, and upper overloading also has some adverse effect on the stabilization of the retaining wall and the stress distribution of the foundation surface. The direct reason of the destruction is that the drainage facilities were not installed as required during the construction process. According to the current destruction conditions of the retaining wall, feasible treatment schemes and reinforcement measures are presented. It is proved that the rehabilitation effect is favorable.
