Project background: Water Resources Bulletin is an authoritative medium for the government to publish the national water resources information and an important channel for the public to understand the national water situation as well as an indispensable source of basic information in the current construction of the most stringent water resources management system. It also provides a reliable support for the formulation of regional development plans and development of water conservancy scientific research and production activities.

Main content: data reorganization and summarization and reasonable review and feedback of Water Resources Bulletin; text editing of Chinese edition and English translation of China Water Resources Bulletin and summary of provincial water resource bulletins; typical regional investigation, provision of technical support services, provincial, river basin and technical personnel training; provision of data support on water information, software daily management and upgrade maintenance for the internal and external departments of the Ministry of Water Resources; promotion of preparation improvement of Water Resources Bulletin and cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources to carry out related work.

Scale and Distribution of demonstration and popularization: provide annual summary of water resources bulletins of provincial-level administrative regions and provide relevant basic information on water resources for China Statistical Yearbook on Environment and China Statistical Yearbook of National Bureau of Statistics.

Main scientific and technological innovations and contributions: Through the compilation of Bulletin, inform the society of the dynamic state of incoming water, water and water quality, provide scientific basis for the government’s macro-control decision-making and provide guidance for the development and utilization of water resources by every national economy department. 

Achievement and scientific and technological output: first draft of China Water Resources Bulletin 2017 (Chinese version).

Economic benefits: It is conducive to the formulation of targeted water resources protection and management measures and improving the awareness of water resources protection of the whole society to directly reduce economic losses; conducive to economic development and social stability; and plays a supervisory and promotive role in the water environmental quality.

Social benefits: Improve the quality and ability of the compilers of the Bulletin; improve the awareness of the employed personnel of the technical standards for water resources management.
