On May 19, during the 2015 World Congress held in Huairou District in the suburban area of Beijing, IWHR President Kuang Shangfu had a meeting with IHA President Ken Adams and Executive Director Richard Taylor, talking about deepening communication and cooperation of the two sides in the future.

Kuang Shangfu extended his warm welcome to Ken Adams and Richard Taylor,  briefed them upon IWHR’s business areas and departments specializing in hydropower research, and reviewed the close cooperation between IHA and IWHR. As Kuang denoted, with the joint efforts of the two institutions, the cooperation has made remarkable results, and the IHA China Office affiliated to IWHR ran smoothly and successfully. As one of the co-organizers of the 2015 World Hydropower Congress, IWHR has been active and supportive in the preparation of the Congress. He sincerely hoped that IWHR and IHA could make joint efforts to contribute to world sustainable hydropower development.

IHA President Ken Adams thanked IWHR for its great support to the work and activities of IHA, including the preparation of the 2015 Congress. He looked forward to further cooperation and communication with IWHR in the future to provide stronger supports to world hydropower sustainability. He accepted with pleasure the invitation of President Kuang to visit IWHR in the future. Richard Taylor, the executive director of IHA, also gave his high appraisal to the concerted efforts of IWHR and other three co-organizers for making the Congress possible.

The two parties also talked about the major events of the Congress and made a joint wish to the success of the Congress.
